We have a 133-year history of outreach and benevolence support for organizations, groups and activities within the greater Wausau community. The following organizations and activities are active extensions of Immanuel Lutheran. In addition to organizations that grow out of the church's own ministry, we give space and support to two organizations: Faith in Action and Acton Academy.
Faith In Action of Marathon County is a non-profit organization that provides supportive services, at no charge, to elderly people (60 & over) in Marathon County. Services are provided to help seniors improve their quality of life and remain independent as long as possible.
Crossways Camping Ministries brings people together in Christ so lives are changed and communities enhanced. One hundred and ninety Lutheran congregations support the Mission and Ministry of Crossways. Three outdoor ministry camps are operated in Wisconsin: Imago Dei Village in Clintonville, WI, Pine Lake Camp in Waupaca, WI and Waypost Camp in Hatley, WI. The facilities provide programs for thousands of guests year-round. Crossways teaches all who experience the camps about stewardship of life, the creation we have been given, service to those less fortunate and doing the work of God through sharing our resources.
Greater Wausau Christian Services is a community of congregations that brings Christian compassion and hope to individuals and families in elder care facilities, the Marathon County Jail, and the Marathon County Juvenile Facility.
Neighbor's Place is a community center providing a hand up to residents of Marathon County and the surrounding communities. They provide programs including a food bank and food pantry, TNP gardens, community learning center, furniture and basic needs bank, and neighborhood outreach.
